I've got to get this off my chest...before I explode
You can start over...even at the age of 63
On this site, I share everything I've learned to become an elite athlete... Starting at the age of 63! Despite a heart wrenching personal loss, depression, laziness, and too much alcohol to deaden the pain.
If you are tired of jumping from one health and fitness fad... leaving you frustrated and heart-broken, you are in the right place.
The health and fitness industry sell you the quick and easy fix. How is that working for you?
You are an athlete. It's a mindset you can learn and become!
Here are a few things about me

"My basic philosophy is constant and never ending improvement in my health, fitness, and longevity."
I apply this philosophy in everything I do, whether it's working out, eating, teaching, sharing, competition or public speaking.
What is BodyFitX all about?
The foundation of any successful athlete (not exerciser) is to establish a simple strategy for health and fitness success, that at the same time incorporates competition in the mix.
BodyFitX is about everything you need to create an athletic life that gives you the competitive edge you need today to STICK TO A PLAN and succeed in all your goals.
There are three (3) things you need to thrive as an athlete (not exerciser):
strategy, action, & competition
These aspects are covered in depth in everything I teach.
However, all these tools are only effective when you've developed the character and mindset of the BodyFitX athlete.
That's why on this site we don't just teach tactics to health and fitness. We teach you how to strategically stick to a simple health and fitness regimen.
Here's what a few other experts say about becoming an athlete vs an exerciser...

Dr. Kristen Dieffenbach
Associate Professor of Athletic Coaching Education at West Virginia University and Sports Psychology Consultant
Everyone should think of themselves as athletes.
It’s not reserved for people who get a paycheck from it.
(Noting that she’s surprised how many clients are reluctant to embrace the identity.)
It’s like they’re devaluing what they’re doing, even if they love physical activity.

Mark Rippetoe
Author of Starting Strength
Exercise and training are two different things.
Exercise is physical activity for its own sake, a workout done for the effect it produces today, during the workout or right after you’re through. Training is physical activity done with a longer-term goal in mind...

Bill Bowerman
University of Oregon Track and Field coach and Nike Co-Founder
If you have a body, you are an athlete.
In other words, an athlete can be a top competitor or a “back of the pack” finisher.
Least likely to be an Athlete: My Story
I know you've seen these pictures and videos out there that show these fit, toned baby boomer athletes. I'm betting that the majority of them have been fit and toned for quite some time. I doubt they started at age 63.
Well, that isn't my story. I'd love to say that athleticism, fitness and health came easy to me.
As you can see here, I wasn't the "specimen" that I am now.
Click on the images below to see videos of part of my fitness regimen.
In order that I don't repeat a story that I've already told, my transformation is more fully told in my Fitness Manifesto here...
Where it all comes together for you
This website is where all my health and fitness endeavors come together.
Here, I've provided a behind-the-scenes look at how I transformed from a lazy, fat old man to a competitive athlete at the age of 63.
Whenever I find the time, I write and make videos about what I've learned along my journey.
If you're an aspiring athlete inside, you'll find a straight-forward, no-frills resource to help you become a member of the BodyFitX family.
What's next?
Call me an idealist or a dreamer but I believe that health and fitness can be reached regardless of your age or current health condition.
I've found a simple (not easy) health and fitness regimen that can transform you into the athlete you've always wanted to become.
I call it the BodyFitX Method and it's founded on three principles, Functional, Fresh, and Family.
Functional exercises (no gym membership needed), Fresh Food (removal of processed foods), and Family.
Family involves accountability and the BodyFitX Family keep each other on track.
And I'm making it my mission to help to you if you want to take your life back.
